About Point Break Inspections

Hello, I’m Frank Keefer, owner of Point Break Inspections.
I’m a North Carolina native and a licensed home inspector (NC License #6181) serving the greater Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill area. My mission is to help homebuyers and sellers make informed decisions by providing thorough inspections and easy-to-understand reports. Here’s a bit about my background and why I love what I do.
Frank Keefer – NC Licensed Home Inspector #6181
I was born at Fort Bragg and have always been proud to call North Carolina home. My journey to becoming a home inspector wasn’t direct – it’s built on a diverse career that taught me the importance of safety, structure, and customer service. I spent years in event and venue operations, managing large-scale facilities in Southern California where attention to detail and system reliability were critical every day. This experience honed my observational skills and a ‘fix it right’ mindset.

Later, I transitioned into consulting and moved back to NC, where my wife and I purchased our first home in Apex. That process sparked my fascination with building science and what it means to be a well-informed, proactive homeowner. I began diving into how homes are designed and built, which eventually led me to pursue a career in home inspections – a perfect blend of my passions for construction and helping others.

To turn this passion into expertise, I trained formally at The Home Inspector Training Center in Burlington, NC, completing rigorous coursework and field training. After earning my North Carolina Home Inspector’s license (#6181), I didn’t stop there – I’m also continually educating myself on the latest in home systems and issues. I even obtained an FAA Remote Pilot license (Small UAS) which allows me to use drones for roof inspections and aerial assessments that keep me and my clients safe on tough roofs.

Today, I live in Apex, NC with my wife and our two daughters. Point Break Inspections is built on the values I hold dear: thoroughness, honesty, and a commitment to empowering my clients. Whether I’m inspecting a cozy bungalow in Raleigh or a new construction home in Cary, I approach each inspection with the same level of care and attention. My goal is for you to walk away from the process feeling confident and informed about your (future) home.”
